Fieldnote
Inspections without paper
(01) Overview
A property inspection firm replaced clipboards and photo dumps with an offline-first field app and a live reporting dashboard for their clients.
- Discipline
- Full stack + UI
- Platform
- Mobile + web
- Duration
- 14 weeks
(02) The challenge
Inspectors work in basements and plant rooms with no signal. Every photo, note and signature had to be captured offline and sync without conflicts later.
(03) The approach
We designed a thumb-first capture flow tested on-site with inspectors wearing gloves, then built an offline queue that syncs to Firestore when a connection returns.
Reports generate as branded PDFs automatically, and clients get a dashboard of every finding across their portfolio, filterable by severity and site.
(04) The outcome
Reports go out the same day as the inspection instead of the following week, and nobody retypes handwritten notes any more.
